Documentaries for a better world

28.02 -08.03.2022
Torrox Costa, Málaga

Event summary

Do you remember that reflex camera that you keep in a corner and use in automatic mode? Would you like to learn filming, photography, and video editing techniques? The “Documentaries for a better world” project offers you this and much more! In the project, we will gather more than 30 people to learn about filmmaking processes that we will use to make several short documentaries and movies. The youth exchange will take place in the south of Spain, in a small village near the amazing city of Malaga: rural life, the mediterranean sea, Arabic architecture… are many of the topics that the region will inspire us to make documentaries and movies.

Experienced trainers will guide you along the way to develop your creativity and audiovisual skills. Much of the work is collaborative and is done in groups. You don’t need to have prior experience, just an open mind and motivation to learn new skills. Moreover, at Youth Europa we are always looking for participants with initiative, commitment and a desire to excel; attitudes that we believe are complementary to a good team player.

The project brings together various participants from Estonia, Spain, Greece, and Slovakia. The intercultural and fun atmosphere is more than guaranteed. We are convinced that this is a magical project in which we will generate great results and make great friendships!

Don’t think twice, pack your luggage and come to the event that will make your 2022.

Discover non-formal learning!

What can you expect?

The Program

The program is divided into two halves; in the first half, we will learn through several practical workshops everything necessary to produce short documentaries and movies. In the second half, the participants will be divided into groups and will produce short documentaries and movies. And don’t worry! Youth exchanges do not follow a formal learning methodology, learning takes place through various activities with a more interactive and informal approach.

The charm of South Spain

The project takes place in the south of Spain (Andalusia), one of the most charismatic regions of the country. We will enjoy its gastronomy, its people and its history. Elements that we will use to produce our documentaries and films. We will need several locals to participate in our documentaries and films, so we will organize multiple activities that will help you to make new connections with the locals.

One of a lifetime experience

Youth Europa projects are a unique experience, where the subject matter of the project is often put on the back burner. This is because we place special emphasis on creating an interesting group of diverse personalities, a group that will continue to help, support, and communicate with each other after the project. We never tire of repeating it, in these kinds of projects you will meet people and live experiences that can change your life!

Have fun while developing yourself!

Social program

We have put all our efforts into the program of activities. However, we have been able to recover, and we have put the same enthusiasm into the social program… the backbone of the project, because a cohesive and motivated group is the only way to guarantee a project with incredible results! Throughout the program, several leisure activities are included, such as energizers, team-building activities, treasure hunter, visit to the city of Malaga, cultural evenings… These activities will allow us to get to know each other better, forge new friendships and have fun together.
