Blind Walk

Goal:

  • To experience the “loss” of vision.
  • To build up trust with your partner.

Material:

  • A couple of bandanas, scarfs, kerchiefs…

 

Instructions:

  • Participants work in pairs.
  • They receive the following instructions:
    “One of you will get your eyes blinded and then explore the space around. You can feel free to walk around, sit, or touch things. Your partner needs to take care of your safety, but he/she should not restrict your
    movement.”
  • One exploration is 5 minutes long. After that, partners change their roles.

Reflection:

  • How did it feel to experience the loss of vision?
  • Did you trust your partner?
  • Was it hard to trust him/her?

You should choose a safe space for this activity, as there is a risk of falling down or running into things.
